Contract with CPTM provides for renovation of 11 CPTM stations

Accessibility for people with special needs (public and employees), as well as meeting the basic needs of comfort and safety of employees (in compliance with the NR-24 standard), is one of the focuses of an important contract between IEME Brasil and CPTM (Companhia Paulista de Trens Metropolitanos) for the refurbishment of 11 of the company’s stations.

Initiated in April 2018, the contract for specialized engineering and architecture technical services aims at the elaboration of the executive project for the adaptation of the stations and complete renovations, which include electrical, hydraulic and systems installations, intended to comply with the Fire Department Inspection Report (AVCB).

The work covers the following stations: Mooca, Ipiranga, São Caetano, Utinga, Prefeito Saladino, Santo André, Capuava, Mauá, Guapituba, Ribeirão Pires and Rio Grande da Serra.

So far, the complete executive projects for the renovation and adaptation of Capuava, Prefeito Saladino, São Caetano and Utinga stations have been completed, which have already been tendered and built. Tenders for the construction of the Santo André and Mauá stations are in progress. The executive projects for the other stations had different stages of development, but were interrupted by the client’s decision.

Suzano Municipal Drainage and Rainwater Management Plan (PMDMAP)

Suzano Municipal Drainage and Rainwater Management Plan (PMDMAP)

Coordinated and completed in 2022 by the Municipality of Suzano (SP), the Municipal Plan for Drainage and Management of Rainwater of Suzano (PMDMAP) carries out an extensive mapping of the municipality, identifying everything from roads, properties and occupations to the type of ground cover, basins and areas at risk for human occupation.

The study covers 45 areas (divided into several sectors) and is an important municipal management tool in several aspects, such as: urban occupation, transport and road development, social programs and environmental education.

In addition, the PMDMAP identifies regions subject to flooding, flooding and landslides, helping the city hall to intervene in critical areas and thus prevent accidents.

Consisting of a diagnosis by sector, the plan provides specific recommendations for solving problems for each one of them.

These may include garbage and debris cleaning services, improvements to the surface drainage system (rainwater, wastewater and/or sewage); earthworks to adjust or reduce the slope, drainage works and surface protection; implementation of containment structures (gravity walls, curtains, etc.), earthmoving services; implementation of surface vegetation protection (grasses) on slopes with exposed soil; cleaning and desilting of the drainage channel and even definitive removal of houses in the sector.

The PMDMAP, started in 2017, was funded by FEHIDRO (State Water Resources Fund), through the CBH-AT (Alto Tietê Basin Committee), and carried out by the companies Ieme Brasil and Base for the Suzano City Hall.

Cidade Universitária and Tatuapé bridges

Inspection of works of art in SP

At the request of the Public Prosecutor’s Office, IEME Brasil inspected the Tatuapé bridge, in the East Zone of São Paulo, and found large displacements of some support devices, exposed armor, breakage of prestressing cables and other faults. The need for interdiction, however, was discarded. The company also inspected the Cidade Universitária bridge, in the West Zone, and found that it does not need to be closed despite showing damage, such as broken pretension cables.

IEME at the Olympics

Inspection of the Deodoro Sports Complex

The Deodoro Sports Complex, located in Vila Militar in Rio de Janeiro, hosted 11 Olympic sports and four Paralympic sports during the 2016 Games.

The structures of the bleachers are frequently subjected to dynamic requests caused by the movement of the public during games, presentations or shows. In these events, the request is usually imposed in a “rhythmic” way and, as a consequence, the structure is subjected to cyclic displacements at certain frequencies, resulting in vibrations. Depending on the intensity, this phenomenon can cause discomfort to users and, in an extreme situation, public panic and structural impairment.

For these reasons, tests were carried out to characterize the dynamic behavior of the provisional stands at the Complexo de Deodoro.

2014 World Cup

Arena Corinthians under inspection

The safety of Arena Corinthians, the opening stage of the 2014 World Cup, was evaluated by our team through a forced vibration test. For this, Vibrodina was used, mechanical generator equipment that simulates the movement of fans on the stands. In this way, it was possible to evaluate the dynamic behavior and find out if the structure was adequate in terms of safety and comfort parameters so that everything went well at the beginning of the Cup.
