VLT (Light Rail Vehicle) is a public transport system that uses light vehicles powered by electricity and operating on rails. These vehicles usually circulate in urban areas, often on roads shared with cars and buses or in exclusive corridors.

It is an intermediate option between the subway and the bus, combining the capacity to transport a considerable number of passengers with the flexibility to operate in more restricted urban spaces.
